on the first Day of christmas my true Love sent to me...! Day 1

hello my dearies!
gosh it's christmas time!

and I love it!

*my personal visual "Ode" to Yule time*

there's something about christmas that puts a smile in my face.

and because of that, I'm going to make 12 christmas related posts just like the christmas carol!
and so you guys don't get tired of it, there will always be unrelated posts inserted after these ones.
let us begin!

if you're wondering about the picture, well... people do some crazy shit just to get out of studying, so my facebook page is all pimped out now.

as much as I love christmas, this year it feels so much more special:
the other day me and Skav spent the entire day setting up his several (yes you read me right) trees and really bringing life to Santa's little north pole house.
it took us Hours upon Hours, and we were hungry and our backs hurt, but we were proud of it.

*my boyfriend has one of these... super creepy story. go to craked.com to know more!*

it felt so good to share something so perfect and pure with the person I love. god knows I have a truck load of trust issues, but he's someone that sticks by me and helps me grow as a person. a really better one. sometimes it's hard to feel like you deserve love... especially if people told you all your life you didn't, or never treated you with love, respect... sometimes even the proper care.
but you have to fight that feeling.
you have to be able to accept that sincere hug and kiss on the forehead.

go ahead, I'll wait.

I would show you guys some photos, but some stuff I rather not share, you know, I'm the only one here sharing, not everyone else in my christmas history lol.

I did a little video wearing this but I still don't know if it's something I can use...
I guess we'll see.

I still have that huge important news to share with you guys, but I really wanna do it with Skav, maybe in a cute photo or something.

***

now, for the unrelated topic!

the other day I had the unfortunate luck of losing my little coin purse.
it was handmade with leather and had a picture of a witch flying... as you can see it was gorgeous.

I lost my public transport pass, some money and about 4 receipts of those same passes, and now I have no way to prove the IRS that I did spend loads of money in passes to go to college.
ffffffffff.

so... I was poking around the interwebs, watching cool stuff, when I came across this:

the cute little site of Obscura antiques shop! I liked them on facebook ages ago, but I don't remember seeing this. of course my eyes bulged out of its sockets and I started drolling, but I tried to maintain a calm posture and see if I could find anything pretty to buy myself for christmas.

and soon enough... there it was.
a frog purse!

most people find this to be extremely gross.
and then you have "other" people that think it's awesome, and when it's finally in their hands they just cringe and try to hide small gag reflexes.

I should know, the first time I got my genuine crow's foot earring I felt so... eek, that I turned it into a necklace.

but nowadays I even kiss it so... yeah.

but don't start flipping me the finger yet.
I don't agree with the torture of animals.

this is part of a handicraft tradition widely spread in the Philippines and other neighbour countries. to them, having money near a frog, or even inside of its pelt, brings great luck with financial situations. also, frogs are animals that are greatly praised as a source of cheap and tasty food.

and I should know.
I've eaten frog before.

*yummy*

so basically, what you're seeing here are the leftovers of someone's thai dinner being put to better use than just to throw it in the bin, as we all know, you only eat the tasty meety legs... nham.
some people go through the trouble of getting the meat carefully in order to preserve the entire pelt (see image above) but for most, it's chop chop and sow it together.

so... before you get on your high horse and start calling me a blond monster who eats little snow white's critter friends, take a moment to absorve this interesting view on another culture.

*learning is good kids.*

so I guess this is all for now, stay tunned for more cute and scary stuff.
well, you know me.

cheers!

"follow me To the Rabbit hole", said the maiden

hello dearies,
my private facebook now has a "follow" button for those you enjoy my modelling work, or simply would like to be informed of what I'm up to.

this is a big step for me, because I don't always like to be "that" reachable...
but I get many sweet messages from you guys on youtube and people have asked me to do this, so I'm going to give it a try.

I guess I really love the idea of knowing other ways of living and the internet provides that.
there's an anthropologist, a sociologist, and a foodie inside of me.

I live my life in search of knowledge.
I want to suck out all the marrow of life.

we spend so much time thinking about our problems that we forget to live sometimes...
it's amazing how living can be wonderful if you just stop for a moment and be wondered with the beauty of things, trees and hugs, love and rain...

just stop.

be wondered.

 I believe,
if I can entertain people and they can learn new things by watching me, just as much as I learn with them, then I can say all of this is worth it.

I love to live.
I love to learn.
my life is a journey.

xoxo

little green Monsters with Big dreams

* Model: Sara Corpsie (me) / Mua: Zakahia*

here's a bit of my latest colaboration with Zak.

*me and Zak, getting ready to rumble!*

I really love the fact that we both take much importance in the work we do together.
there's always that responsibility we have of getting the best out of each other.

in our case, it's more of a high endorphin-drive than the actual feeling of something in need of attention.

we feed on each other to do good things.
if you don't try hard enough, do you really think you deserve any praise at all?
how about that glow you get when you've reached a hard, time consuming objective?

nothing is free.
there are many envious people out there, that think otherwise...
those people never get what they want because they lack the drive.

*me & Skav*

after all, we have to fight for what we want, right?

we deserve everything we get.
the only problem is that we don't always get it.
and that's life really...

I know, I'm a very silly girl.
but at least I'm happy hehe

xoxo

if I tell you Sorewa himitsu desu, you won't Believe me

last month I traveled to the birth place of my country, Guimarães.
the thick air of the metropolis tires me with no end and sometimes I feel the need to unplug and relax...

I had an invitation from a really good friend of mine to stay at her house and enjoy some much needed R&R

of course there was some time left to do some more active activities,
like going to the IberAnime convention and brush up on our japanese (or we would like to think so)

*naughty school girls at home getting ready*

we didn't have much time to think about our costumes, so we went as school girls, compliments of my friend Alexis' modelling wardrobe.

*me, Kakashi and Alexis*
already inside, we found so many people with awesome outfits, you wouldn't believe.
we just took a couple of pictures with some of them, because my bestie was a bit shy just from looking at her favorite characters.
and who could blame her? when you're talking to someone in a convention you are really talking to the character.
at least that's the way we felt it, and it was the funnest way of being there!

*I never thought I'd say this: ME AND KENSHIN!*

I just went berserk when I saw this guy dressed as my ultimate favorite Anime character...
when I was younger I was completely obsessed with Kenshin, I've seen the OVAs, read many of the mangas, googled images, fan art...
it might seem silly but I felt like I was meeting the real deal.
just look at my leg, all upwards and jumpy-like...

he was very nice and didn't mind me going all crazy, after all, he clearly loves him too.
we as very sweet.

after that, we watched a band playing.
it was my first time meeting this band I have to say that they were just lovely the entire time, talking to fans and taking pictures, and even just the fact of their acknowledgement of how important Dragon Ball was to young 80's kids in Portugal.

I was so happy when they started playing this:

now,
there's a cute Ryu character right out front and he's just over the moon with this band and this particular song, I couldn't stop myself from taping this.
it was just so funny...!

these photos were taken my my sweet friend Nargor.
everything is out of focus but he tried <3

I have many more stories to tell...
and a big special one is coming up really soon.

OOTD - Raven Romantic Ruin

the other day I couldn't stop myself from being involved in a mist of velvet richness and warm dark makeup.
there's something magic about the cold weather for me...
it brings out the cozy loving person that I am.
all I want to do is be curled up in a fluffy bed with a cup of steamy white tea and some blueberry pancakes. yum...!

I've been buying books like crazy as always, so I'll have plenty of literature to keep me happy for the winter.
that is also something very comforting to do when it's cold.
because of that I haven't been doing much shopping for cute little things to wear and share with you guys.
that and some other news...

*velvet coat - vintage, from my mother / black dress with velvet details - H&M / faux litas - gift / transparent, polkadot umbrella - gift / skull & crow feather earrings - H&M gift / celtic cross necklace - Alchemy Gothic / pentagram ring - Androm*

on this day clothed myself with the feathers of the black bird, a present from my other half, Skav.
the amazing thing was when a murder of ravens flew over our heads.
the perfect ending to a white and grey day.

Crow's Fall
When Crow was white he decided the sun was too white.
He decided it glared much too whitely.
He decided to attack it and defeat it.

He got his strength flush and in full glitter.
He clawed and fluffed his rage up.
He aimed his beak direct at the sun's centre.

He laughed himself to the centre of himself

And attacked.

At his battle cry trees grew suddenly old,
Shadows flattened.

But the sun brightened-
It brightened, and Crow returned charred black.

He opened his mouth but what came out was charred black.

"Up there," he managed,
"Where white is black and black is white, I won."

Black cats in All hallows Eve

hallo.
let's get right into it, shall we?

this Halloween, I wanted to do something different (I will not disclose it due to being a next hallows eve possibility hehe) but faith had another idea.
me and my love went to the Zombie Walk After Party, and I had to try and breathe life to the now, very chiché zombie.
since my funds are very scarce, due to other adventures I've been having (more on that later) I decided to recycle much of the stuff I already had laying around the house.
of course, if you have a really good eye for bargains, you can easily do an outfit like mine for 10 Euro tops!
mine was around 7 euro.
I kid you not.

since the After Party was at a friend's gaming lounge, I just thought it would be cool to go as a game character, hence my dirty scrubs.
did you guess it?
Silent Hill Nurse.

you probably already knew.

my smexy man went as a Necromancer... <3

*with Swiskgaar*

it was a wonderful night of various games, fruity drinks, and light conversation mixed with much laughter!
hope you guys had an awesome Halloween!

"now is the End, let Her go in peace" - the Craft

when you excel at something - and this can be anything - there will always be people envious of you.
they will try to belittle your accomplishments, reduce your feelings to insignificance
and trample your self-worth.

it is in moments like these that you must look deep inside yourself
and realize what those people already see:

that you are simply better than them.

in the Dark nothing Sings, not even my Lark

such good things have been happening to me.
I feel truly blessed to have experiences in my life that few people can count on.

to have true happiness is to lose oneself in the fear and darkness and rise from it.
new, clean, and stronger.

* model: corpse of cheer (me) / photographer & makeup artist: Zakahia *

that's the real meaning of strength.
to find happiness where once was only a vast darkness.

the Good, the Old and the Wise

"Come one...
Come all...!"

~the Hunchback of Notre Dame

Hi again my dears!
it's so damn hot right now... I should be doing other things, but the heat is so unbearable that I honestly can barely move from my bedroom floor!

right before the Book fair, me and my dearest found, only by change imagine, a small fair in the heart of Lisbon that consisted in showing a bit of the cultural aspects of certain rural villages of Portugal.
and they had it all, really.
just the food was... well, if I had been rich then, I would've drank and eat my way into poverty.

* scary Masks for Scary people *

* yes, that is a real warthog's snout *

these awesome canes make think of a scary, dark lord of the rings character...

* a Careto and a deer mount *

these are all "Caretos"
they can have many colors and forms, but they all mean the same.

the wiki has a little description on that:

"The Careto tradition is a pre-historical religious ritual, from northeastern Portugal, namely the little village of Podence, 8 km from Macedo de Cavaleiros in Bragança District. It currently takes place during Carnival.
Caretos are masked young men dressed in suits made of yellow, red, black, blue and green fringe wool quilts, wearing brass, leather or wooden masks and rattles in their belts.
Shrove Tuesday and the prior Sunday are the days when the Caretos are most active. They appear in groups from every corner of the village running and shouting excitedly, frightening the people and “robbing” all the wineries.
The main target of these masquerade groups are single young girls, who make them climb to the top of walls and verandas.
Scholars associate the Careto tradition with memories of magical practices related to agrarian fertility cults.[1]"

so deliciously full of zing!

* it's olny Fair that São Miguel has its Cheese too *

* canned sardines with several sauces *

believe it or not, this is no more no less than Pineapple Liqueur and Passion Fruit Liqueur!
I never knew such things were even made by portuguese people...
but it sounds kind of delicious.

beautiful homemade hot sauce...
I swear, every time I look at this photo I want to buy one.

this is homemade flower of salt, black olives and green olives,
you can see a bit more on the salt here:

I have to say, I had no idea of what flower of salt was.

handmade pottery from neighbor spanish - portuguese villages.
these are a real statement of how little the boundaries of maps really mean to simple people living together and experiencing and mixing cultures, creating new, intense traditions.

the anthropologist in me appears...

these are all natural products from the local habitants of the rural villages.
you can't get more healthy than that!

and since we're talking about good portuguese things...
search Pastel de Nata and see what you find.

lovely!!

P.S - I have some photos of my last shoot for you guys to see... wait for it!

Celebratum

"good evening...
I'm your host, you're ghost host...
with the most!"

~house of a Thousand corpses

my birthday was actually very low key, since I divided it in 2 parties, one for my parents and one for my close friends.
I never did like to celebrate my anniversary, but this year something popped in me and I said:
what the heck, let's do this bitch!

so this is the one with my parents:

we went to a lighthouse that's basically falling into a huge cliff where we can actually see, the centuries passed in the broken rock, all the way from top to bottom!

this gorgeous wind chime was outside of my favorite souvenir store of the lighthouse, I just wanted to grab it and take it home with me! it's so whimsical and nostalgic of the 90's...
this little store doesn't even have a name, it's small and smells of waves and beach sand, but I always get this feeling of awe everytime I'm inside it.

this little store sells loads of oddities, related to the sea that you wouldn't even dream of...
my parents actually bought me an atlantic horseshoe crab in mint condition!

needless to say it is one of my prized possessions in the oddities department.
but I'll do a video about my oddities, probably today!

*the View*

there's no protection whatsoever to keep you from falling into this pit.
I kidd you not.
when it's really windy they forbbid people from going to this part of the cliff.

I was completely feeling the scary freedom of no boundaries...
...and it was breathtaking.

*The Lighthouse*

me, caught off guard, loving mother Nature...

after that we went to visit a castle in Setúbal (I always ask my parents to take me to a different castle every year on my birthday and of course, the tiny shop on the cliff filled with taxidermy)

on our way there we came across something so beautiful and yet so... full of... loss.

the rain storms in my country knocked down many trees, and I feel really sad for that, because I feel such a deep connection with nature, I hate it when it seems she's punishing herself.

feels like self-harm to me.

I feel so alive in dead places.
for me they're not dead at all. I can feel even more life from all the people that passed through this place for centuries.
it pulsates with history and experiences.

after that it was time for dinner, and I had been craving seafood for about 3 months, so I can safely say this dinner was one of the best in my life!

lovely!
xoxo
