DIY creepers ReVamp

today is not a good day.

but I'll make a post nonetheless...

I had these creepers for what I believe was an enormous amount of time, eight years if I'm not mistaken.

this was back when pinstripes were having all the hype. since that I really grew tired of the whole stripes fad and as my wardrobe changed, these puppies fell back.

the years were kind to them, taking into consideration the fact that I used to work twelve hour shifts on them...

so, for the revamping of the pretty boys (yes, mine are boys) I used:

- a permanent black ink marker (the type you use for writing on CDs)

- black shoe polish

- shining liquid for the shoe polish

- a polishing brush & sponge

I first started by cleaning the creepers of any dirt and dust with a dry cloth, the next step was to run the marker down the white pinstripes, and be very careful not to draw a very wide stroke and paint every bit of white. I also used it to cover up some scrapes from usage.

as you see the progress already makes a big difference. 

next I gave it a vigorous scrub with the black shoe polish, and here is where you might get a bit lost:

the platform on these creepers is dented throughout, so if you go in with a sponge to get all the nooks and crannies, you'll never get it all and you've consumed a ridiculous amount of time on a half assed job.

my answer to that is to use a small and wide brush (much like a hair brush), put a lot of black shoe polish on it and scrub for your life.

then all you have to do is give it a good shine and clean the zipper parts of any shoe polish with a dry cloth.

they look much better in real life, but this was a project done in the middle of an insomnia night, and I was still trying to work out my new camera...

I used to be a very frustrated being, due to my inertia when I entered in procrastination. but currently I have discovered that there is indeed an active lady inside of me. this became a "thing" in a few months time... now, I can only try and hold myself back from trying to do things.

 (usually I'd want to do the most when I'm super busy, but now I am able to space out events and things)

I just looked at all the stuff I have a tendency to accumulate more easily (mainly flyers, magazines, pieces of papers that hold cutlery at a food place...) and I decided that my room needed yet another makeover.

 so all the little things glued to the walls and door need to go - to another place! - and I've been wanting to do a few scrapbooks in a long, long time.

I'm just using little bits and bobs of stuff I've hoarded throughout the years...!

I even had the materials to produce these cute hair-clips, with ever watchful eyes, looking to every corner, protecting my little noggin. heehee

something sweet, something savoury, on a rainy day

I´ve come down with a nasty bug this weekend.

my boyfriend was sick and I stayed with him at his house to care after him, and for the second time in our relationship, we cant's stop ourselves from sharing love germs.

I'm happy to say my tender love and care nursed him back to health.

so, while he went to the shop to get us some goodies for us to cook dinner, I stayed cozy in the sofa wrapped around a mountain of blankets, with ice on my cheek (yes, my tooth is acting up again...) and warm salt in my chest (I'll explain further) for the cough and pain.

he came home with a bag of groceries and romantic chocolate to bright my gloomy day.

 made me melt like a lollipop on a summer day.

I love you my dearest.

now... the salt in the chest:

when I was in England I became very ill with something very similar to this pesky bug. fortunately my friend's boyfriend was studying to be a doctor, so we quickly knew what ailed me and gave a Lithuanian home remedy called a warm poultice, or a cataplasm as it is also known, made out of regular household items.

this can be used to relieve pain, inflammation and accelerate the process of healing.

Lithuanian Salt Poultice Recipe

1 cozy sock

1 packet of table salt

1 frying pan

1 spoon 

Preparation

pop the salt on the frying pan and stir smoothly with a spoon.

continue doing so, and touch the salt with your finger now and then to see how hot it is.

when it reaches the point where it's too hot to poke it, slide the salt to the sock with the spoon.

secure with a knot in the sock and put it on top of your chest over your clothes.

and relax.

this is my room!
I'm showing just a few things here and there, but just because I have a real fetish with collecting things *cof cof* hoarder *cof cof* so I really have quite some little and big treasures tucked away under my bed and in an infinite number of boxes, wooden or cardboard, and bags and storage units.

that's just me. things make me happy because they make me feel full. and not just things one can buy. practically everything makes me feel that way, even when I'm walking near the sea shore during summer and happen to find sea shells or an odd looking rock. even leaves make feel that way. a piece of paper that holds the cutlery together in a diner, sharing a meal with a special friend or the ticket from the very first time I went to an amusement park.
be it of a high or low importance, I am fascinated with things.

I guess this would be my dresser. as you can see, it its best of days it still manages to look cluttered, messy and belonging to someone with her head in the clouds.
and it's true.

these are some of my pride and joy. my babies.
I'm sure it doesn't look like much to a great deal of people, but in those shelves lays years and years of saving up for some good (goth) quality shoes. I'd have to say 99% of these shoes were bought with my hard earning money.
life's a bitch, but then again, you have to be financially smart in order to have your cake and eat it too.

now, I don't really know what the heck this thing is called, nor in English nor in  Portuguese. I just call the name, that I can only assume by pronouncing it, to be in French... so, yeah.
I have a few more drawers of clothing but this is my main place for articles that you rather have hanged, otherwise you'll just get wrinkles everywhere...

that's me and my hunay! love him to death. and a few more things, all that I "feel" to be within the earth spirit.

I've been going through a weird phase where I loooove to buy figurines that old people would get for their grand daughters as totally unwanted gifts, like this gorgeous mermaid or my troll in the photo above this one. once again, all that I felt to be a part of water is here.

this is one of the walls in my room.
unfortunately I have the urge to change this immensely, but the money has to be wisely spent and to paint this huge red wall to a purple... it will take a bit more of savings. and I am currently saving up for a hair color change and Norwegian lessons.

 plus, I always have to have some extra money for the projects I'm starting.

it will be a wiccan/witchcraft inspired bottle, and I'm now finishing a custom bottle necklace (that I'll put up photos when done) and all of this on top of having an insanely amount of school work to do and tests coming up. ho my...
