Motelx 2013 - Come out and Play said the Creeper

Creepy Crawlers,
Delusional Dames,
Satanic Spirits,
Mangling Monsters,
these are some of the things that give me shivers.
- Sara Dartmoor

hello again!
I went to the Motel X in Lisbon, which is a very scary film festival!
and we love scary, right?

I really wanted to go in costume as Heidi from the new Rob Zombie movie; The Lords of Salem; which by the way I loved to watch immensely. again.
yes, I had already watch the movie but I just had to see it on the big screen, otherwise, what kind of a film addict would I be?
unfortunately I didn't have any spare time *cof, money, cof, cof* to make a good-to-decent costume, so I just flared a bit with some mean eyebrows and the Witches' symbol, that I would adore to tattoo one day.

they also had some cool stuff in exhibition, and just drooled over it...

 lovely guts.
needs more goo!

now, the concept art, storyboard and little snippets of the actual workers:

*lower left drawing caption: oh no you don't girlfriend!*

you know, I'd have to say that there are many *jobs* I know I would be good at, and this...
would be one of them.
I actually tried to find courses that taught this type of stuff, but 11 years ago, all I could find was a private course all the way on the other side of my country, that besides being abhorrently expensive, it required high school courses done in chemistry... I was a major in Arts.

what happened to the good old days where a person could just learn by shadowing someone in the business?

and this? I just thought it would be a good wallpaper.

we made plans with some friends to go see some of the new movies, like "The Conjuring" and stuff, but when we tried to buy the tickets to those movies, everything was completely sold out!
so it wasn't much of a big outing with our friends, but  we ended up being with our friend Freezer and some of his mates, who were really cool, and we just chatted about movies while me and Skav were eating dinner.

we ordered 2 large pizzas and a bottle of red wine.
now, we ordered wine because we *thought* the pizzas would suffice as means of not letting us get super trashed, and I'd had pizzas from Baldracca before, and my memory is that they were quite good. granted, it was some odd 3 years ago, but I never thought they would fall trough on quality as much as they did.

the pizzas were an almost comical paper thin dough the size of 2 dinner plates, with what seemed to be 2 table spoons of tomato sauce and 3 lonely, sad slices of pepperoni...

I think this better illustrates our feelings after seeing our "dinner":

so yeah, we had a bit of nothing-pizza with our red wine.
after a delightful conversation about Japanese horror movies, we said goodbye to the guys and went on to our designated movies.
me and Skav went to the viewing of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" the original, that I believe every person who even thinks about calling themselves a horror movie fan, has to watch at least once.
it's called old school son.

we were already late to the movie by the time we got up from the table, and even tho we had eaten the "pizzas" we couldn't leave the quarter of alcohol inside that bottle and just leave it there.
we have too much respect to our booze, so we just put the rest of it inside an empty water bottle and continued our drinking inside of the cinema.
was it allowed? I don't think so, but I think we were passed the respect for rules, after downing almost an entire bottle of wine in less than 20 minutes.
an awesome thing about that movie was the person who was going to present it, and it was no other than the amazing Tobe Hooper!!!
my Skav is the real fan of his work, but I was in such a stupor of booziness that I was the one who couldn't contain herself. I was so excited to meet a master of horror like him that the moment he walked through the stage door I went ballistic and waved like a maniac to him, and we were so close to him, that he saw us.

well, I don't like to put my excuses on the booze, but I believe that for character protection I will do it just this once.
the next thing I did was to... "wiggle" my boobies at him while the crowd was applauding insanely.
I was applauding my own way. I'm *different*.
but the most awesome part is that he in fact SAW me, and started saying hello and giving me the thumbs up, smiling with is cute grampa face.

I guess he liked what he saw.

I could find a very witty way to explain how I think I was behaving at that moment, considering the whole previous rumbustious happenings of that night, but there is nothing I can parody better than the great Seth McFarlane can't do, so... this ended up being me and Skav when meeting a famous movie maker:

 stay cool!

Óbidos Medieval Fair - 2013

hello there, friend!
I know what you're thinking... "where the heck are those Christmas posts you promised?"
well, I gave it a lot of thought and I came to the conclusion that whenever I promise something here, there are a series of unavoidable events that flourish into an almost sort of butterfly effect, preventing me of keeping my word.
that or I'm really awful at time management.
so, with no further ado, I will proceed with numerous posts of stuff that happened quite some time ago, because as they say in my country:
"to remember is to live"

***

ah! the Óbidos fair... what a delightful day that was.
here are some of the highlights of the day, and just that because there was about 100 pictures taken that day, or something in that ballpark.

here you can see the Castle where there's actually a type of fancy hostel if you want to visit medieval times but still be able to take a warm shower and use a clean jon.
the center part of the photo shows you our most favorite place: the bar.
since a friend of ours was participating in the Fair, the nice Friar "Tuck" in charge of the drinks made us a discount price for the entire day, so needless to say, we drank heartily.

thank you Friar Tuck!

these next photos are handmade crafts done by a very interesting Blacksmith (which I felt very attracted to and no, he was not hot at all) that oddly reminded me of Conan the Cimmerian by Robert E. only because he was big, manly, mean and super muscular... I swear my uterus shivered every time his hammer struck the half-made sword in the anvil.
uff...!

he was using the above contraption to actually parch his thirst while working.
I kid you not.

*Skav & Sarah, sitting in a throne, k-i-ss-i-n-g*

 *smile, cause you're mine*

*me and my gorgeous little Swan, Dri*

that is an hot ass!
the donkey I mean...
me and Dri were loving to pet this cute little guy, until the owner said it bit off one of her nephew's fingers off!
I never pulled my hand so faster from a cute animal before in my life.

this was part of the food court, were you could sit (if, and that's a big IF, you had any space for your butt cheeks between the multitude of people trying to do the same) and enjoy some medieval style foodies!

 yes, we even had music!
and please notice the delicious Sus Scrofa Domesticus (miss piggy) being gently cooked on a slow fire in the back... yummmm.

some of my lovely company for the day.
I really miss that guy... but sometimes life takes such unexpected turns.
I read somewhere that "you are the choices you make".
but what if someone else is making those choices for you...?

life is tricky sometimes.

 *cute little watch tower*

now, here's a really good friend of ours; the Mead Man!
I can't recall his name, mostly because every time we meet I'm very drunk or getting very drunk, but he always remembers us, from the Vagos Open Air in 2012 and 2013.

we always stayed with him chatting and eating boiled snails (don't hate, it's a cultural thing) during any bands we weren't so keen on seeing.
my little Sis has her birthday very close to the days we're at Vagos, and this nice man even offered her a big bottle of mead, which I had copious sips from, because I'm the big Sis of course.

*another Friar Tuck, giving out a battle scream, the food's cooked probably*

and now... for your medieval entertainment....
THE JOUSTING!
with a special appearance of the "Espada Lusitânia" and our friend Tomás who was so kind to offer us the tickets so we could enjoy an awesome day - for free!

they enchanted us beyond belief with their skillful swordsmanship!

there he is fighting his sword master.
I once went to one of his classes, and I must say, nothing gets your blood rushing better than invest towards someone with a training sword!
and I did it!
I was scared shitless at first, but I did it...!

*gorgeous attention to detail to better simulate olden times*

I believe it was around this area (or I could be terribly wrong) where we watched the reenactment of the Portuguese assault to a Moorish occupied castle.
they had real arrows lighted with fire, rock trowing, and loads of people in costume doing that huge production.
I feel bad that I have no pictures of that, but I think it was my lovely camera that decided to run out of battery. thank you kindly.

*I'm sexy and I know it!*

Lord of The Rings (Return of the King):

Gimli: You young rascals! A merry hunt you've led us on, and now we find you... feasting and... and *smoking.*
Pippin: We are sitting on a field of victory enjoying a few well-earned comforts.
[Merry blows a smoke ring]
Pippin: The salted pork is particularly good.
Gimli: [eagerly] Salted pork?

*cheers!!!!!*

to one of the best days of my life.
if I could turn back time, I would, just to re-live this awesome day all over again.

on the first Day of christmas my true Love sent to me...! Day 1

hello my dearies!
gosh it's christmas time!

and I love it!

*my personal visual "Ode" to Yule time*

there's something about christmas that puts a smile in my face.

and because of that, I'm going to make 12 christmas related posts just like the christmas carol!
and so you guys don't get tired of it, there will always be unrelated posts inserted after these ones.
let us begin!

if you're wondering about the picture, well... people do some crazy shit just to get out of studying, so my facebook page is all pimped out now.

as much as I love christmas, this year it feels so much more special:
the other day me and Skav spent the entire day setting up his several (yes you read me right) trees and really bringing life to Santa's little north pole house.
it took us Hours upon Hours, and we were hungry and our backs hurt, but we were proud of it.

*my boyfriend has one of these... super creepy story. go to craked.com to know more!*

it felt so good to share something so perfect and pure with the person I love. god knows I have a truck load of trust issues, but he's someone that sticks by me and helps me grow as a person. a really better one. sometimes it's hard to feel like you deserve love... especially if people told you all your life you didn't, or never treated you with love, respect... sometimes even the proper care.
but you have to fight that feeling.
you have to be able to accept that sincere hug and kiss on the forehead.

go ahead, I'll wait.

I would show you guys some photos, but some stuff I rather not share, you know, I'm the only one here sharing, not everyone else in my christmas history lol.

I did a little video wearing this but I still don't know if it's something I can use...
I guess we'll see.

I still have that huge important news to share with you guys, but I really wanna do it with Skav, maybe in a cute photo or something.

***

now, for the unrelated topic!

the other day I had the unfortunate luck of losing my little coin purse.
it was handmade with leather and had a picture of a witch flying... as you can see it was gorgeous.

I lost my public transport pass, some money and about 4 receipts of those same passes, and now I have no way to prove the IRS that I did spend loads of money in passes to go to college.
ffffffffff.

so... I was poking around the interwebs, watching cool stuff, when I came across this:

the cute little site of Obscura antiques shop! I liked them on facebook ages ago, but I don't remember seeing this. of course my eyes bulged out of its sockets and I started drolling, but I tried to maintain a calm posture and see if I could find anything pretty to buy myself for christmas.

and soon enough... there it was.
a frog purse!

most people find this to be extremely gross.
and then you have "other" people that think it's awesome, and when it's finally in their hands they just cringe and try to hide small gag reflexes.

I should know, the first time I got my genuine crow's foot earring I felt so... eek, that I turned it into a necklace.

but nowadays I even kiss it so... yeah.

but don't start flipping me the finger yet.
I don't agree with the torture of animals.

this is part of a handicraft tradition widely spread in the Philippines and other neighbour countries. to them, having money near a frog, or even inside of its pelt, brings great luck with financial situations. also, frogs are animals that are greatly praised as a source of cheap and tasty food.

and I should know.
I've eaten frog before.

*yummy*

so basically, what you're seeing here are the leftovers of someone's thai dinner being put to better use than just to throw it in the bin, as we all know, you only eat the tasty meety legs... nham.
some people go through the trouble of getting the meat carefully in order to preserve the entire pelt (see image above) but for most, it's chop chop and sow it together.

so... before you get on your high horse and start calling me a blond monster who eats little snow white's critter friends, take a moment to absorve this interesting view on another culture.

*learning is good kids.*

so I guess this is all for now, stay tunned for more cute and scary stuff.
well, you know me.

cheers!

"follow me To the Rabbit hole", said the maiden

hello dearies,
my private facebook now has a "follow" button for those you enjoy my modelling work, or simply would like to be informed of what I'm up to.

this is a big step for me, because I don't always like to be "that" reachable...
but I get many sweet messages from you guys on youtube and people have asked me to do this, so I'm going to give it a try.

I guess I really love the idea of knowing other ways of living and the internet provides that.
there's an anthropologist, a sociologist, and a foodie inside of me.

I live my life in search of knowledge.
I want to suck out all the marrow of life.

we spend so much time thinking about our problems that we forget to live sometimes...
it's amazing how living can be wonderful if you just stop for a moment and be wondered with the beauty of things, trees and hugs, love and rain...

just stop.

be wondered.

 I believe,
if I can entertain people and they can learn new things by watching me, just as much as I learn with them, then I can say all of this is worth it.

I love to live.
I love to learn.
my life is a journey.

xoxo

little green Monsters with Big dreams

* Model: Sara Corpsie (me) / Mua: Zakahia*

here's a bit of my latest colaboration with Zak.

*me and Zak, getting ready to rumble!*

I really love the fact that we both take much importance in the work we do together.
there's always that responsibility we have of getting the best out of each other.

in our case, it's more of a high endorphin-drive than the actual feeling of something in need of attention.

we feed on each other to do good things.
if you don't try hard enough, do you really think you deserve any praise at all?
how about that glow you get when you've reached a hard, time consuming objective?

nothing is free.
there are many envious people out there, that think otherwise...
those people never get what they want because they lack the drive.

*me & Skav*

after all, we have to fight for what we want, right?

we deserve everything we get.
the only problem is that we don't always get it.
and that's life really...

I know, I'm a very silly girl.
but at least I'm happy hehe

xoxo

if I tell you Sorewa himitsu desu, you won't Believe me

last month I traveled to the birth place of my country, Guimarães.
the thick air of the metropolis tires me with no end and sometimes I feel the need to unplug and relax...

I had an invitation from a really good friend of mine to stay at her house and enjoy some much needed R&R

of course there was some time left to do some more active activities,
like going to the IberAnime convention and brush up on our japanese (or we would like to think so)

*naughty school girls at home getting ready*

we didn't have much time to think about our costumes, so we went as school girls, compliments of my friend Alexis' modelling wardrobe.

*me, Kakashi and Alexis*
already inside, we found so many people with awesome outfits, you wouldn't believe.
we just took a couple of pictures with some of them, because my bestie was a bit shy just from looking at her favorite characters.
and who could blame her? when you're talking to someone in a convention you are really talking to the character.
at least that's the way we felt it, and it was the funnest way of being there!

*I never thought I'd say this: ME AND KENSHIN!*

I just went berserk when I saw this guy dressed as my ultimate favorite Anime character...
when I was younger I was completely obsessed with Kenshin, I've seen the OVAs, read many of the mangas, googled images, fan art...
it might seem silly but I felt like I was meeting the real deal.
just look at my leg, all upwards and jumpy-like...

he was very nice and didn't mind me going all crazy, after all, he clearly loves him too.
we as very sweet.

after that, we watched a band playing.
it was my first time meeting this band I have to say that they were just lovely the entire time, talking to fans and taking pictures, and even just the fact of their acknowledgement of how important Dragon Ball was to young 80's kids in Portugal.

I was so happy when they started playing this:

now,
there's a cute Ryu character right out front and he's just over the moon with this band and this particular song, I couldn't stop myself from taping this.
it was just so funny...!

these photos were taken my my sweet friend Nargor.
everything is out of focus but he tried <3

I have many more stories to tell...
and a big special one is coming up really soon.

OOTD - Raven Romantic Ruin

the other day I couldn't stop myself from being involved in a mist of velvet richness and warm dark makeup.
there's something magic about the cold weather for me...
it brings out the cozy loving person that I am.
all I want to do is be curled up in a fluffy bed with a cup of steamy white tea and some blueberry pancakes. yum...!

I've been buying books like crazy as always, so I'll have plenty of literature to keep me happy for the winter.
that is also something very comforting to do when it's cold.
because of that I haven't been doing much shopping for cute little things to wear and share with you guys.
that and some other news...

*velvet coat - vintage, from my mother / black dress with velvet details - H&M / faux litas - gift / transparent, polkadot umbrella - gift / skull & crow feather earrings - H&M gift / celtic cross necklace - Alchemy Gothic / pentagram ring - Androm*

on this day clothed myself with the feathers of the black bird, a present from my other half, Skav.
the amazing thing was when a murder of ravens flew over our heads.
the perfect ending to a white and grey day.

Crow's Fall
When Crow was white he decided the sun was too white.
He decided it glared much too whitely.
He decided to attack it and defeat it.

He got his strength flush and in full glitter.
He clawed and fluffed his rage up.
He aimed his beak direct at the sun's centre.

He laughed himself to the centre of himself

And attacked.

At his battle cry trees grew suddenly old,
Shadows flattened.

But the sun brightened-
It brightened, and Crow returned charred black.

He opened his mouth but what came out was charred black.

"Up there," he managed,
"Where white is black and black is white, I won."
